Some fascinating series and their sums

چکیده
In this paper we present some interesting results involving summation of series in particular trigonometric ones. We failed to locate these results in existing literature or in the web like MathWorld (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/) nor could we derive them using software for analytical computation like Maple. The identities are beautiful and involve finite series.

Complete Convergence and Some Maximal Inequalities for Weighted Sums of Random Variables
Let be a sequence of arbitrary random variables with and , for every and be an array of real numbers. We will obtain two maximal inequalities for partial sums and weighted sums of random variables and also, we will prove complete convergence for weighted sums , under some conditions on and sequence .
متن کاملOn Kubota’s Dirichlet Series
Kubota [19] showed how the theory of Eisenstein series on the higher metaplectic covers of SL2 (which he discovered) can be used to study the analytic properties of Dirichlet series formed with n-th order Gauss sums. In this paper we will prove a functional equation for such Dirichlet series in the precise form required by the companion paper [2]. Closely related results are in Eckhardt and Pat...
متن کاملSome New Modified Cosine Sums and L1-convergence of Cosine Trigonometric Series
In this paper we introduce some new modified cosine sums and then using these sums we study L1-convergence of trigonometric cosine series.
متن کاملSpecial Functions Related to Dedekind Type Dc-sums and Their Applications
In this paper we construct trigonometric functions of the sum Tp(h, k), which is called Dedekind type DC-(Dahee and Changhee) sums. We establish analytic properties of this sum. We find trigonometric representations of this sum. We prove reciprocity theorem of this sums. Furthermore, we obtain relations between the Clausen functions, Polylogarithm function, Hurwitz zeta function, generalized La...
متن کاملDatabase Security and the Distribution of Subset Sums in R
We discuss applications of combinatorial arguments to database security: maximizing the “usability” of a statistical database under the control of the mechanism Audit Expert of Chin and Ozsoyoglu. As modelled by Mirka Miller et al., the goal is to maximize the number of SUM queries from a database of real numbers without compromising it. Via linear algebra, direct connections emerge between suc...
